Consignworks offers complete estate and moving sales for individuals that need to sell furniture and home furnishings. We handle all aspects of pricing, promotion and staffing of sales. We strive to make each sale a success, with minimal disruption to our clients. We are full-service firm that is solely dedicated to reselling furniture, antiques, art and fine items full-time,  and uniquely qualified to handle large estates.

We also often utilize private sales and showings, for selected buyers that have been pre-qualified.  We identify select pieces to market to target buyers, that include individuals and interior decorators. We have an extensive database that we market to for private sales. (To be on our private sales list, be sure to complete a registration form to be notified about future events.)   Private sales typically have significantly higher selling prices than public moving sales, and the number of buyers is restricted.

For all sales events, we provide all staff to monitor and assist buyers, before, during and after the sale.  One person is dedicated for checkout, with 4-5 staff to assist customers. Credit cards, and checks are accepted and processed at the sale, which enables buyers to make large purchases.

Before the Sale

 ConsignWorks will identify and research the value of your designated items and determine the best resale market. Some specialty items may be more appropriate for other markets such as on-line stores, specialty dealers and auction houses.

 We inventory, categorize and tag all items with item numbers, selling prices, and reserve prices as appropriate for the type of event. We photograph and measure items for pre-sale and marketing activities. An on-line gallery is created that showcases items, as well as other market collateral.

An inventory listing is prepared for client acceptance prior to the sale.  We work with you to determine market value and minimum selling prices. We also prepare collateral and price lists for buyers.

We clean items as necessary, and display them to maximize their presentation and salability.  Consignworks advertises the sale in local newspapers, our website, by direct mail and the Internet, as appropriate, to maximize the target market. We have a database of buyers that is contacted. Before the sale, we tag all items.

The Day of the Sale

We provide professional staff to monitor the sale, and ensure that your property is protected.  

We post signs directing buyers to the sale.  Signs are removed after the sale has concluded.

We document all offers and bids for possible post-sales. We collect payment for items. and are responsible for bad checks. If required by state law, we collect sales tax and forward to the appropriate state Department of Revenue. 

The house is left in "broom clean" condition after the sale. The Client is responsible for disposal of items to charitable foundations. If requested, we can provide referrals to vendors who will haul trash, but this responsibility lies with the Client.

After the Sale

We work with buyers in after-sale activities to arrange for item pickup. This includes having an on-site presence to monitor buyers and moving efforts.

We provide printouts of sold items, with final selling prices. Finally, we pay our clients promptly.
