Salvadore Dali Art Collection

Dudley , MA , Nov, 2008– A private collection of original, limited edition and signed Salvador Dali prints and reliefs is available from Consignworks. Dali (1904-1989) is one of the best known masters of Surrealism, and his work encompasses painting, sculpture, photography and other mediums. He was also known for his eccentric antics, which served to generate much publicity.

Consignworks Opens New & Larger Store

Dudley , MA , May, 2008– Rapid growth has necessitated the expansion of the retail store, to accommodate new consignments and a large art inventory. As of June 5th, Consignworks will be in a new and larger location in the same mill complex at 137 Schofield Ave.  "The new space allows us to create rooms with dedicated decor themes, as well as expand our growing inventory of items available for sale, to our local buyers and on-line sales, " says Tana Scouras, President. "We now have over 5000 square feet available for merchandising." 

Consignworks Certified as Registered eBay Drop Off Location (REDOL)

Dudley , MA , February, 2008– In addition to being a Trading Assistant, Consignworks has now been certified as a Registered Ebay Drop-Off location. REDOLs must consistently exceed performance levels of over 98%, have liability insurance, bonded employees, a staffed storefront, as well as meet other criteria. Double Digit Sales Growth for 2007

Dudley , MA , January, 2008– Sales from Amazon channels had  growth of over 100% from the previous year. eBay sales were also higher, with a gain of 30%. "Estate sales were off due to the downturn in the real estate market," says Tana Scouras, President. "However, sales from on-line channels were very robust and we still had strong sales growth. The store opened to the public for the last half of the year, and we a strong following of buyers and dealers. We are excited about our prospects for 2008."

Ferdinand Barbedienne 1866 Bronze Mercury Sold by Consignworks

Webster , MA , December, 2006 – A circa 1866 bronze sculpture of Mercury (Hermes) consigned to Consignworks was sold to a private collector for over $3000. This piece was cast by the Barbedienne foundry in Paris. Ferdinand Barbedienne ( 1810-1892) was well known for his bronzes of mythological figures, candelabra and other castings.

Consignworks Sells Signed Wanda Gag Lithograph  

Webster , MA , September, 2006 – Consignworks has successfully sold a signed lithograph of Wanda Gag (1893-1946), an illustrator and artist that is also know for her illustrations of children’s books. The lithograph, “LimeLight” was dated 1929, and sold for $1500.

Wanda Gag was born in New Ulm, Minnesota. Her work has been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum, Denver, San Diego and Philadelphia museums and many others.

Consignworks Sells Two Sidney Gross Oil Paintings  

Webster , MA , August, 2006 – Consignworks has successfully sold two original abstract oil paintings by Sidney Gross ( 1921-1969) These pieces were on consignment from a private collector, and were sold to a gallery in New York. Terms were not disclosed.

Sidney Gross was born in New York, and has exhibited at the Whitney Museum, Georgia Museum, Oklahoma City and many other museums and galleries. He was a member of Audubon Artists, AEA and others.

Janet Scheffler, an associate at Consignworks, Inc will be honored as the Patriot Newspaper's  Women of the Year  on May 7, 2006. Each year, the Patriot recognizes women  from the Southern Worcester community for their achievements in business, service, and other humanitarian efforts.  This year, Ms Scheffler has been awarded the Woman of the Year award for her countless contributions to public service.  The event will be held at Indian Ranch in Webster, Mass, and will honor many other residents for their contributions to the community at large.

Ms Scheffler is also the Executive Director of the United Way of Webster & Dudley. She serves on the Ladies Hospital Guild of Hubbard Regional Hospital, and is a member of the Webster Community For Success. Her most recent community involvement helped secure funding for the Oral Health Initiative which brings dental care to the children of Webster's residents.

Skinner of Boston To Auction Laurence Sisson Bar Harbor Watercolor 

Webster , MA , January, 2005 -- Skinner of Boston, a premier auctioneer and appraiser will auction a watercolor from the American artist, Laurence Sisson.  The piece is a beautiful watercolor landscape of Maine. The piece is scheduled for auction in March, 2005. This piece was consigned to ConsignWorks.

Laurence Sisson was born in 1928 is a well-known realist painter and student of Herbert Barnett. He lived in Maine for many years, and this work portrays one of the seascapes.
