As a newly appointed executor, I decided to hire ConsignWorks to manage an estate sale that I personally thought would be quite a challenge. This challenge was the enormous quantity of goods in an enormous home. I chose ConsignWorks after interviewing a few companies with similar service offerings. What I anticipated needing was the complete range of services they made available, but what won me over was their unique efforts towards presenting their service with a very attentive, sensitive and down-to-earth manner in dealing with my own sensitivities towards disassembling (selling) my deceased parent's belongings.

I was routinely impressed and pleased with the thoughtful and professional crew that performed the work. It's not an emotionally easy task to have to "undo" the years of your parent's possessions in their home, but Tana and her crew made every effort to make me feel confident that everything was well taken care of, and that every detail was addressed according to how I wanted it and felt it should be. Tana was very present and hands-on, and orchestrated a two-day sale (by necessity), facilitating dialogue, publicity, crew, staging, pricing, and more. Everyone was put thru their paces, to be sure, but it seemed like they were invigorated by the effort. Maybe I would say that they even had fun doing it?

The sale was publicized like crazy and there were HUNDREDS of people that came just on the first day. My directions were to "Please make everything sell! I don't want anything left!" on the second day, and to empty the house as best they could. And that is what they did! After the crowds and buying frenzy were done and gone, they cleaned up, tidied, and made sure that I was perfectly happy with how everything was before they all said their good-byes and left for home.

I would highly recommend ConsignWorks, because the job I provided was a challenging one on many levels, and the resulting experience was excellent without reservations. Tana, you returned my initial phone call promptly. We set a date to meet and at that meeting we assessed my needs, set a date and started to work. You advertised my sale in newspapers, on your website, plus other websites. You blogged and tweeted, and posted pics of my stuff, too.

On the Wednesday before the estate sale, you and two members of your staff came to price. It turned out to be a huge project because I had not just the typical household items, but a special collection of weaving supplies.

I had four, yes four, looms to sell, plus all the accoutrements...shuttles, heddles, raddles and more. Plus shelves of weaving books, years and years worth of weavers' magazines and barrels and totes of yarn. You called in two people, a weaver and a fiber arts specialist to price for a second day. You advertised to all the weavers and crafters, too. And they came.

From my neighbors and from customers, I heard that the estate sale was well attended and well handled. The condo was left in excellent condition. The sales report was detailed and clear. Your payment was prompt. And I had no doubts that it would be.

Hello Tana! SO sorry for the delay in responding to your email. Within days following our move I was on a plane and gone for a week in Albuquerque, NM for a work convention. I have only just returned and have been focused on settling into our new temporary 'digs'....

We could not have been more pleased with our experience working with Consignworks. In the days prior to our estate sale, they made several trips to our home, carefully pricing merchandise, staging the house, researching the value of our items, and explaining the process. On the day of the sale we were contacted more than once so that no item was sold below an agreed-upon price. What was most impressive was to return to our home to find all signage, taping, and "staging" evidence gone. Moreover, on the day of the sale Consignworks hired people to move furniture out of the house so that there was absolutely no damage to our home.

Dear Tana, PLEASE forgive me for not writing much sooner. I look around at my new surroundings and thank the heavens that you and your team were there to help me make decisions, set up/stage the event, and complete the event. I never would have been successful getting out of our home with out your continuous help. How many times did I call with small probably insignificant questions, and you always took the time to answer them. Coming to my home to set up for the event with out me have to be there was much appreciated. I needed to stay at work and was very comfortable having you be there without me. Speaking of my home, my dog, Clifford, is still with us. That sandwich that he snatched from one of your assistants must have given him the strength he needed to keep on going!!!

It certainly doesn't surprise me that on the date of the sale there was torrential rain! However the upbeat attitude of those there made me feel more relaxed about the outcome, which ended up being terrific.
